Thanks Cormac, I would like nothing more but it's a VERY complicated subject and there is so much material out there to be read and understood. I love learning about it, don't get me wrong and it is very interesting seeing how it relates to paid search and the distribution of contextual advertising but even learning the basics is actually a little tough. :)

Semantics seems like a very interesting concept alright. There doesn't seem to be that much information on the design of it though. You could become a Semantic SEO expert Dave! :)

There are many MANY advanced topics on SEO. I believe Richard Hearne gave an excellent presentation on SEO at ShareIT Cork on March 24th. I would personally have to figure out my target audience first but Ideally I would like to discuss LSI (Latent Semantic Indexing) and the theory behind it. Also, I am a big fan on reading up on the different ranking algorithms used by different search engines, specifically the smaller ones. Most of the basics have been covered time and time again and I wouldn't like to rehash industry basics.

I didn't attend the seminar and so I don't know the exact content of any of the presentations but I'd like to know what you would have discussed if you were asked to give a presentation on SEO? Just wondering what the advanced topics might be?

Great write up too. I'd love to have attended. If I was full time in the SEO/M business then I would have been there like a shot. I'm never any good at the network mingling thing though...

Thanks Jason. I didn't miss the Google goodie bag, I just was not interested in the adwords getting started guide in a fancy booklet ;)

Prosperity were on par with world class SES swag, I guess Google didn't think we needed it.

Hahaha! It is indeed! You were one of the friendliest there! I was meaning to ask you if I could steal some of your photos on flickr for this post, but it's a bit late.

Thanks Sean. There was a lot going for the conference, don't get me wrong. I just felt that the audience interactive return targeted was far too wide. They mentioned on their site that Ad Agency Executives and Marketing Professionals should attend. That's just two of the categories. I sincerely hope that they narrow it down next year and focus on more on the attendee getting better value and decent information rather than the half canned sales pitch many of the speakers were giving.
