Irish SEO, SEM, Webmasters & Designers Meetup Take 2
The time has come again. Irish SEOs, online marketers, webmasters, all members of the Irish Webmaster forum and anyone with an interest in all things web related are all welcome to come along to the second official IWF meetup.
The event will once again be hosted by the Harbour Master in the IFSC, Dublin on Saturday the 9th of August. I encourage everyone who can to attend as it is a great way to have a few drinks with people who don’t get annoyed at you for talking shop when socializing.
For the second time running, the event will be sponsored by the most fantastic webhosting company in Ireland, Blacknight Solutions who incidently are launching their new web hosting plans today and have also just exploded onto the scene with their new VPS hosting solutions (I plan to sample the finest champagne) ;)
If you can make it we will be meeting at 7:30PM - 8:30PM. This is an open event and anyone can attend. The last event was great and I cannot tell you how much I got out of meeting everyone.
The confirmed attendees are as follows:
- Richard Hearne
- Dave Behan
- James Larkin
- Micky Wall
- Louie (You cannot miss him)
- Gavin Doolan
- Dave Davis
- James Farrell
The last time a LOT more than the confirmed list came along so please do join us.I might be there a little late so whoever gets there first, please get a table where we can all sit together! Looking forward to meeting some fresh faces and some… not so fresh. More details can be found here.
Those who are definitely coming along, let me know in the comments below and I’ll link you up above.

How come you cannot miss me?
Am I that badly dressed–up?

What happened Dave?
Where did that weather come from. My train got abandoned outside Malahide. Didn’t think I’d make it but managed to get there in the end although somewhat late.
@Louie, nothing wrong with your dress sense ;-)
August 11th, 2008 at 9:15 am
@Louie, I meant it in a nice way. I meant that you were quite the outgoing character and were the heart of the last meetup.
@Martina, neither could I unfortunately. Like a few others, I got stuck on the M1 just before the port tunnel.
@Michael, how did you get in from Malahide? I live right beside there.
August 11th, 2008 at 10:57 am
Trained stopped at Malahide (at least I think it was Malahide) due to a landslide. Walked round to the taxi depot at the crossroads and shared a taxi into Dublin.
If I had of known I would have picked you up on the way!

@Dave, Thanks. I did my best last time and this time around. It’s hard to keep the spirit going and I am an ice-breaker guy plus I don’t like seeing people sitting in a corner waiting…
For some is hard to start a conversation with someone that you only know from a “forum” by nick-name, but not for me.
I am the type of guy that, if you throw me out through the door I’ll come back using the window… if you know what I mean. What have I to loose in the end?…
@Michael Wall, Of course it wasn’t. My partner picked the clothes for me… :)

i was wondering what yo uthink the best way to do seo in spanish?
September 12th, 2008 at 4:11 pm
SEO in spanish, would be the same as you’d do SEO in english or any other language
October 6th, 2008 at 1:42 am
Red Roters:
SEO is pretty much the same in any language, unique content, backlinks and establishing relevancy are language-agnostic.
October 17th, 2008 at 4:46 pm
@ Mike Riley, you are totally correct. Especially the backlinking is important.
October 25th, 2008 at 8:19 am
Thanks for the tip on doing SEO in different languages. Finding that service to be in high demand with clients.

You’ll just translate the words in spanish, if you are in on-page optimization but the meta tags depends if your keywords are in spanish or english. Off-page like link building are just the same.
